Valentine’s Day doesn’t always have to be extravagant and super fancy. In fact, I think the last time I wanted to be extra fancy on Valentine’s Day was in my early 20s…maybe that just makes me old, ha! In any case, this look is perfect for many variations on the holiday. Whether you’re a single lady hanging out with the girls or you’re just taking it low key, you’ll be dressed to perfection! And, this look would be equally as cute worn to work with a pencil skirt and jacket or paired with skinny trousers. See, I’m telling you, perfect for all Valentine day combos!
I love the bright color of this sweater (like really love!) and paired it with a black distressed jean and a neutral heel. The sweater runs pretty true to size (i’m wearing a small for reference) and it’s under $25! It’s not a super long sweater, so I gave it a little front tuck to show my waist line. See…who says Valentine’s Day has to be fancy? This outfit gets the job done and you’re comfortable as well! And if it’s still super chilly where you are and have a red or blush coat on hand – the color combo of that with the bright coral would be perfect. Actually on that same note, if you wanted to spice it up a bit with a red heel or earring that would have the same effect. Play with the colors a bit. The red/coral/pink family has many color combos that work well together! And as always, if you ever need outfit ideas for every day or any other occasion, just shoot me a DM on instagram (@patternsandbatter) or an email and I’d love to help!
Now, onto the cutest of cute for a Valentine’s Day date. Again, this could be with your girls or your sweetie. Either way, it’s probably the best idea ever! So, in Scottsdale, there is this adorable shop called Ruze Cake House. I found out about this place from a friend who had her wedding dessert catered by the company and I immediately followed them on Instagram (which by the way is inspiration city). At that time they didn’t have a store front, but low and behold one popped up not too long after! If you’re local to Scottsdale, go check them out. They’re located in Old Town Scottsdale and serve up an amazing selections of macarons (my favorite right now is the Fruity Pebble one!), several other desserts, hot chocolate (and you can do hot chocolate tastings!) and coffee. The space is to die for as you can tell from my pics above and it would be the sweetest date to head there before cocktails or just as a pre-cursor to dinner (because dessert should always come first!!). Now, this is totally not sponsored, I just love to support and share the word about small businesses. Although with their 20k+ followers, I’m basically the small business, ha! The idea is still there though if you’re not local. Find a cute, local bakery, tea shop or cafe and have a day date! Just because Valentine’s day falls on a Wednesday doesn’t mean you have to celebrate it then! Shift it to the weekend and make a day of it! Think how fun it would be for a galentine’s day to stop by a bakery and then head to a movie?! Can you say a perfect?
xoxo
