Ruffled Sweater & Plaid Pants – ON SALE TODAY!
I get a good amount of questions asking what to wear to work. This is so broad because every work place I’ve been at has their own idea of what proper work attire is. But, in general, I’m hoping the workwear that I’ll be posting (including this look) will fit the bill for most places.
I usually like to mix it up at work and wear things that I can wear after work as well as during my work day. I also love to throw in textures, patterns, pants, etc. This look takes a classic neutral sweater and brings in a bit of a fun element with the ruffled sleeves and underneath ruffle. It’s long enough to wear with leggings (yay!) but you could also wear it with a pencil skirt or jeans. I’ve paired with a great pair of plaid leggings (give me all the plaid!!), black lace-up block heels, a black clutch and a simple iridescent beaded necklace (you could also wear a longer, dainty necklace).
If it’s cold out and you don’t want to wear heels, swap them out for a pair of booties (i’d suggest one with a bit of a heel 2″+) or knee hight boots. A couple of other suggestions would be to add a scarf – try a fun print or another plaid with similar colors (either to the plaid pants or the neutral sweater), and add a work tote instead of a clutch. Also, because apparently I’m full of ideas today, you could add a blazer over the sweater and let those fun ruffles peak out the end of the jacket sleeves. So many combinations – it’s an essential fall outfit. PLUS, the leggings and sweater are 40% off today! For reference, I’m wearing a small in the sweater (runs TTS) and a small in the leggings (runs TTS).
