Trifecta Tuesday – My Top Picks of the week for Fashion, Design and Baking
I hope everyone had an amazing Labor Day weekend, filled with friends, family and deals! Now if only we didn’t have to go back to work today *sigh.* Oh well, at least you have these three nuggets of goodness to move you through your morning!
1. Avec Les Filles – Relaxed Jumpsuit
I know this one is hard to see in the pic above, so you’re definitely going to want to click on the link, but this relaxed, slinky jumpsuit is the cutest! First, the color is to die for. I am becoming more obsessed with jewel tone colors by the minute. I don’t care if they’re in style or not (they happen to be at the moment), they’re always so dreamy. So, a couple things to notice on this jumpsuit; first – it is a very relaxed fit, almost like a slip dress. Because of the relaxed fit, it’ll work with many body types (yay!). Second, there are sweet little pockets on each pant leg that gives it a great little detail. Last, the back has a lace inlay, which if you haven’t clicked on the link to see it yet, you need to, it’s amazing. This look is great for several occasions – a cocktail party, date night, or I’d even wear it to a fall wedding. If it’s cold out throw on a blazer or a cardigan (try something fitted if you’re worried about the bulkiness). You could also do a pull over sweater to go on top of the jumpsuit. I know that sounds weird, but it’ll be a new twist on it that will look darling – just try it.
2. Glassybaby – Drinkers (grape juice color shown above with others)
I first came across Glassbaby because I was looking for companies who are donating to Hurricane Harvey. I think it’s amazing that so many people are coming together to help those that are in need. So, before I move on to their drinkers, the “Forever” votive on their site is the item that’s linked to donating to Hurricane Harvey ($10 for each purchase), so be sure to check that out before anything else. Honestly, just take a peek through their whole site, because it’s gorgeous. The colors of glassware you can get are SO pretty. I would never be able to pick just one. These are a little pricey, so just fair warning, but I think the fact that they’re handmade in the USA (it’s a Seattle-based company) and that the company itself does a lot of charity work makes up for the fact that you pay a little. You get what you pay for as the saying goes, so click on the link above to be dazzled with color options and the prettiest of glassware.
3. Williams Sonoma – Stainless-Steel Pastry Blender
I know you may be thinking this is a kitchen gadget that I may never use, and you may be right. However, if you’re a baker you’ll come across needing one of these more than you know. This tool is used to cut cold butter into flour (or a flour mixture). Think – crumbles or biscuits. And, if you’re a baker, you’re probably like – duh. But, some of us are self-taught bakers (like myself) and these are things that just come up when you need them. I like this one in particular because it has a thumb rest. I know that sounds odd, but it helps to grip the handle easier. And any little convenience like that makes me happy – it’s the little things, ha!
