The Classic Black and White Outfit
I’ve been gravitating a lot toward the simple aesthetic of black and white lately; it always looks so put together and effortless. Plus, there are about a million combinations that you can throw together to combine the two colors – black on black, white on white, mix and match. I think about the only rule of thumb in mix and matching black and white is that you have the right kind of shoe to go with the outfit. There are times when sometimes a heel looks better and sometimes a flat looks better. But, that’s an easy fix – try on each option between the two heel heights to see which one elongates your legs and works with the proportion of your outfit. Other than that, it’s pretty fair game.
The three looks above give a slight different vibe with each one. Option #1 you could wear to work (if it’s a business casual environment), but could be equally as cute to go out for a drink after work. Option #2 is a great outfit to run weekend errands or grab brunch with the girls. And, option #3 is more for a date night or event. All three are super cute, and I’d wear each one without a doubt. The nice part about black and white, is that everyone has something in your closet that you already own that will work. Sometimes you just need the inspiration to put the pieces together. I encourage you to try it out. The weekend is the best time, because you have the option to change into something else if you don’t like it.
