Green and White Striped Dress
I have been chomping at the bit to tell you all about this affordable green and white striped dress and the amazing company that makes it. First things first – the company, Everlane. If you’ve never heard of Everlane, they are an ethically-sourced company who is completely transparent with the costs that it takes to make their clothing, pay their people, advertise, etc. It is the complete opposite of fast fashion and it is the exact direction this world needs to be leading. Their clothing is simple, classic and well made and like I said you won’t even believe their prices. Now, I’m someone who, if I have a little extra money, I will put it into a clothing brand that is working with the environment, educating their factories to make sure they’re safe and taken care of, and taking an interest in the quality of their clothing. With Everlane, I don’t have to worry about having the extra money because it’s that affordable. This green and white striped dress is $25. Yes, you heard me, $25!!! Oh and it’s all cotton. Which, if you’ve heard me rant before about the lack of cotton being used, I’m super pumped about. The dress is available in 7 colors (some solid, some striped) and this green and white one will be back in stock mid-September, so keep an eye out. In the meantime I think I’m going to get the black and white mini stripe one as well.
Oh and just so you know, this isn’t a sponsored post, I just love to give shoutouts to companies that are doing great things. If I can pass one or two people along to them, then I’m doing my job. Now, onto the rest of the outfit – mule booties. These convertible booties (yes, you heard me right) when you don’t want to wear them as a mule, the back portion lifts up as a back for a bootie. These are by Sam Edelman, run true to size and are incredibly perfect for the summer to fall transition. With the bold green and white stripe of the dress, I wanted to keep the shoe neutral and classic. Same with the jewelry. I’m wearing my new favorite, beaded bar necklace by Norah Stella Jewelry and some bangle bracelets. The Kate Spade purse brings in a bright pop up color and helps with the whimsy of the outfit. It’s a great size to carry for work or travel: I love the scallop detail along the bottom.
To transition this outfit more to fall just put a jean jacket, plaid shirt or long cardigan over the dress. With a bold stripe like this, feel free to play with pattern mixing. A great floral, plaid or another stripe would be a fun combo. And when it gets too cold for bare legs, just throw on a pair of leggings and some knee high boots. For $25 this dress can be worn for many months.
