This neutral summertime look is probably one of my favorites for the season. Yes, I realize it’s completely hot out and this is a sweater, but it’s incredibly lightweight and is perfect for date night or girls night when the sun goes down. The dark gray tunic and white jeans is a classic color combination. The outfit is fairly simple, but dressed up with details like the laser cut heels and vintage owl necklace. One of the reasons I love this tunic is because it can be worn so many different ways. I’ve shown two ways to wear it (left alone and hanging, or tied in a loose tie to the side). You can also wear it with the front panel tied in a knot. That’s how it was shown in the store and it’s also really cute. It gives the tunic a little more wear because it doesn’t look like the same top in all of the difference instances.
The classic white jean will always be on trend. It’s literally never going out of style. Because distressing goes in and out of style, I own this white pair without any distressing. That way I know I can always wear them. Now, let’s talk accessories and shoes. First off, the heels. I bought these heels to go with a black dress that I wore to my sister’s wedding. They looked great with it, but then I realized how amazing they also look with a pair of jeans (score!). They have just enough detail to give interest to whatever outfit you’re wearing, but not too much with the subtle camel color. I’ve paired a classic black clutch as to not take away from the outfit. Everyone should own a simple black clutch. It doesn’t need to be expensive – this one is from Charming Charlies and I think it was around $20. Lastly, this vintage owl necklace. I get questions ALL the time on where this is from and I really want to be able to tell you a place to buy it, but unfortunately my mom gave it to me when I was home last. It was from my great aunt when she passed away and I was so drawn to it. I love how large it is and how it has a great patina to it. Well, there you have it a neutral summertime look that will carry you right into fall.
So, last I looked, this tunic is actually sold out, but they came out with an identical one in more color options that is sleeveless. That is even more perfect for this time of year because now you can wear it anytime of the day! Dress it down to go run errands in, or dress it up as I did for a late night dinner. It’s under $60 and makes a great classic piece for your closet. I’m wearing an xs for reference.
