Are you tasked with or excited to host Thanksgiving dinner this year? Maybe it’s a friendsgiving, maybe it’s family, maybe it’s just you and your significant other. Whatever the case may be, there are so many ways to dress up your dining table so it has a fun holiday vibe and it’s not to late to do it! It might even take the focus off the food. Because let’s face it, there’s always that cooking or baking disaster over the holidays that you don’t want to remember. Focus on the pretty decor instead 🙂
All of the items above are still available (and many are on sale or clearance!), so they’ll be easy to go out and grab! It might just be that you need a piece here and there to make it the tablescape of your dreams. I bet it’s the metallic pumpkin you’re missing, right?! I love that little guy.
When creating a beautiful tablescape, think about mixing metallics, textures and varying heights. I’m not a matchy, matchy kind-of-girl as you can tell, so throw in a fun, bright color like the blue bowl I have shown. It still goes with everything since I chose the color from the table runner, but it’s not the normal creams, browns and oranges from autumn. It’s something your guests won’t expect. Secondly, think about using items in a creative way. The cornucopia could hold rolls or maybe it’s just for decor and holds little pumpkins and gourds. Line the inside of the rectangular tray with a flat dish or foil and place your turkey there. Lastly, play around with it and have fun. Do a test run the night before with all of the dishes and decor laid out on the table. That way when it’s time for dinner you don’t have to find places to cram the food in and around your festive holiday decor.
In the end Thanksgiving is about taking the time to be thankful for many things including the people and places around you. So don’t stress out and don’t take it for granted. It’s a beautiful holiday with friends and family and of course….that yummy turkey. I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!
