If you’re like me, you’re looking for anything light and summery to put on your body to escape the heat. Now that I live in Scottsdale I am much pickier with my clothing choices. I rarely buy anything polyester – let’s face, I’d sweat/melt right through it. I like breezy, not tight. I try to balance those two out a little, but I definitely gravitate toward breezy pieces of clothing in the summer, and I like things that are versatile – work to cocktails, gym to lunch, etc. This dress by LAmade is the perfect combination of these things. The color may not be the most summery thing, but let’s face it, alot of people out there only own black, grey and white in their wardrobe so this will branch them out into a midnight color. The cutouts on the side are perfect to let the breeze in while covering your bra. It’s just an easy dress for summer and I feel like that’s what summer is all about. I bought a similar one last year with those cutouts and it became my new favorite dress. This one shall be my next. Plus, it’s made in the USA. Added bonus.
2. Big Mouth Toys ‘Gummy Bear Pool Float’
Whoever started the trend to make food items into pool floats is my new best friend. I am absolutely loving the fun-themed floats you can get these days. I’ve seen the donut, pizza, popsicle ones, but this gummy bear one is simply amazing! And, it’s only $25, so stock up with a couple. It’s sure to make any pool party a fun-filled time! Plus, every time I look at it, it puts a smile on my face. Why can’t every day be pool day….sigh.
3. ModCloth – Savor the Scenery Container Set
How cute are these little summery glass containers? I love to find items like these that I can use in the kitchen for my baking supplies – think chocolate chips and coconut storage. And then also use in my office – think paper clips and pushpins. They’re fairly tiny at 4.25″x2.5″ high, which means they won’t take up much space, but the space they will take up will be filled with a great summery print. The set of five will run you just under $40, so they’re not the cheapest set out there, but the fact that they’re made in the USA ups the ante a bit I believe 🙂
