Activewear is everywhere now-a-days. People grocery shop in it, lounge around the house and oh yeah, workout in it. If you go to the gym or an exercise class on the regs it’s amazing how much activewear you own. I typically go to Pure Barre 4-5 times a week and having enough clothing to wear so I don’t have to wash it every couple of days is key. Yes, it’s a bit of a luxury, but so worth it, time wise. Now, I will tell you that I’m not an activewear snob. I don’t only wear Lululemon or Alo (in fact, I have very few of their pieces). It’s all about 3 things for me: fit, the material and the color/pattern. Which brings me to these Maaji leggings: I am digging the color combo and design. The blue strip going down the front is going to give the illusion of a slim leg and the green and blue is actually a rare color combo for leggings (at least from what I normally see out there). They’ll be a great addition to any wardrobe. Plus, as an added bonus for every item purchased from Maaji, they’ll help plant a tree to protect watersheds in Colombia. A good deed for a cute pair of pants? I’ll take it!
2. Art Print – Tangerine (by Minted artist, Alexandra Dzh)
Finding artwork that inspires you and makes you happy is such a great find. Minted is an amazing artist marketplace for art prints, homeware and stationary/cards. It’s actually a bit overwhelming, but all of their designs are done by artists all around the world. So not only are you getting a cool piece of art, but you’re supporting an artist in the process.
Minted has contests throughout the year on specific subjects and then the viewer can vote on their fav, as well as the Minted staff/curator. It’s pretty cool to be able to have your work on display in a marketplace for all to see and buy.
This tangerine print by Alexandra Dzh is the epitome of summer, which I think is why it brings a smile to my face. Warm weather is on it’s way! And yes, I live in Arizona so it’s usually warm, but there are the occasional “cold” days, so back off. 🙂 One of my favorite things to do on Minted is to find pieces that have coordinating colors (not necessarily subjects) and create a gallery wall from it. It’s so fun to mix and match and see what you come up with. In fact, I just bought six pieces the other day. Wish me luck!
I don’t know about you, but I have friends getting married by the second these days and finding a gift that is unique and useful is quite the feat (and yes, sometimes I veer off the registry). But, I just came across this baking dish and it is SO pretty. Seriously, this would be a great gift for any occasion. Even if the person isn’t great in the kitchen, I would bet money at some point they’ll make a casserole, whip up a batch of brownies or roast some veggies. In any of those cases, if they have this dish, they’ll be doing it in style. The colors and design just put a smile on my face. Shoot, for all I care, just have it in display in your kitchen for a pop of color. No one will know if you don’t use it 🙂
