There are a million tablescapes out there for every holiday, event or occasion you can think of. Literally, the ideas are overwhelming. Type that search into Pinterest and you’ll be there for days. But over the years I’ve taken a different approach to looking at these beautiful tables. Instead of designing for a certain theme, party, idea, I like when a design can transition from say, one holiday to another.
When I saw this image of a Thanksgiving tablescape (by A Pumpkin & A Princess), first I thought: gorgeous. Then, I thought, this is a perfect design to be able to transition from fall to Christmas. Genius and very well done. All you have to do is take away the pumpkins and replace them with miniature christmas trees, snowmen, red berries, bowls of ornaments or whatever other Christmas items you have on hand. Brand new tablescape, not a lot of additional time and effort.
Now I’ll be the first to admit that I LOVE to buy decorations, but they can stack up over time and I, for one, have no where to store all of the beautiful, yet semi-useless items. Do yourself a favor and next time you go to the store to make a party purchase, think of other ways or ideas that the item can be used for in the future. Your wallet and closet will both thank you and with all of that extra money you can now throw more parties. Um, win win.
