Tie Neck Blouse Favorites
The tie neck – nothing new, not trendy, just a good ol’ fashion staple piece. If you don’t own at least one top that ties at the neck, I highly suggest you go out and get one. Not everyone loves the bow at their neck, so feel free to let it hang down or tie it in a knot; play around with it to see what suits you and your style. Tie neck blouses look so amazing on their own, but they also add great interest under a cardigan or blazer. Or, you can also put it under a v neck sweater and let the bow play off of the v-neck. Bottom wise, depending on the length of the top, you can pair it with pretty much anything. I love them with a skinny jean tucked in, in the front, or with a high-waisted, wide leg work pant. The blouse is so versatile between casual to work wear that you can style it in so many ways. If you want to start out with something simple, I would try number 7. It’s the classic black and white and will go with every color combo you can think of. My top two picks are number 3 and number 9. Number 3 is amazing – any type of high-waisted bottom and you will be set. Number 9 is more casual: I like the untied ribbon. I’d wear this with a pair of dark skinny jeans and an off-white long cardigan. Jewelry-wise try and stay away from wearing a necklace with these tops, as it’ll get lost and clutter up the bow situation. A great dangly earring will do the trick on it’s own. Have I sold you yet? I mean seriously, these are all amazing and all are under $100. Which, strangely enough was hard to find. A lot of the top designers are making some killer tie neck tops right now, but they’re like $500, which doesn’t fit my budget, and I imagine if you’re a frequent reader, doesn’t fit yours either. In any case, don’t discount the classic look of this blouse. It’s not going out of style any time soon. Seriously, I think I have about 10 in my closet right now, and I’d say half of them are 5+ years old. Not saying, just saying… Happy Friday!
